Look who’s moving - Celebrity hotspots

We all like to be nosy, right? Well, what’s better than knowing where our favourite celebs call home!

You may think that most A-listers flock to London to set up home, but you’d be wrong. Surrey, Essex and the northern countryside are just some of the locations in which our favourite celebs have bought houses, from award-winning singers to British actors, it seems the UK is the first choice for all.

  • Mick Jagger – Richmond has been home for this Rolling Stone but he’s not the only one. Tom Hardy, Pete Townsend, Richard E Grant and David Attenborough all share the connection, and who can blame them.
  • Wayne Rooney – Wayne and Colleen decided it was time for an upgrade, from their 5 million pound Cheshire home to a 20 million pound custom built three-storey mansion deep in the Cheshire countryside. We understand Paddy McGuiness also moved to the village in Dec 17, although we’re not sure whether or not they have invited the Rooney’s over for tea and cake yet.
  • Cheryl –Cheryl moved into boyfriend Liam Payne’s Surrey mansion, although the 1020+ square meters in overall floor area clearly wasn’t big enough for her tastes, so it was decided to increase this by a whopping 71%. The Woking pad is reportedly bought for £5.1 million back in 2015.
  • Rita Ora – London party girl, Rita owns a large but relatively humble home in North London. Located on a residential street, it is rumoured that the blonde songstress has been known to host the odd A-list party, although our invite must have got lost in the post!
  • Jamie Vardy – The Leicester City footballer and his wife Rebekah moved their family into an upgraded 8-bedroom Lincolnshire countryside home located in a sleepy village and boasting  a 7ft high fence so Jamie and his family will be able to get the privacy they’ve been looking for. According to the Sun, the family enjoy growing their own healthy fruit and vegetables and also keep chickens in the garden.
  • Michelle Keegan – Manchester girl Michelle moved into a plush Essex pad in 2014 with husband Mark Wright. The gated house wasn’t easy to find however as Michelle has previously said the couple took ages to find their perfect home and even pulled out of 2 properties before buying.
  • The Beckhams –The Beckham family moved into a £31.5 million mansion in West London. Having residences in America and the UK, the Beckhams originally resided in ‘Beckingham Palace’ in Hertfordshire
  • Adele- The famous singer may have a property in America, but when she’s back on home ground, she lives in a sprawling £6 million countryside mansion in Surrey. The grade II-listed West Sussex retreat has 10 bedrooms, a tennis court and 2 swimming pools!
  • Simon Cowell – The music mogul resides in a £10 million mansion in Holland Park, West London, known as the city’s ‘golden postcode’ because the houses there are so expensive.

As we close out 2025, it is becoming increasingly clear that the private rented sector is entering a period of adjustment rather than retreat. For landlords, particularly those operating in and around London, the coming years will be shaped less by demand – which remains strong – and more by regulation and compliance costs.

The end of the year is a natural time to look back, while also looking forward, and hoping for the best in 2026. At Trading Places, we are pleased to say we played a strong role in assisting so many people to move home in, out and around Leytonstone and surrounding areas. We look forward to helping many more next year.

With ongoing reforms and rising compliance demands across the UK, managing a rental property alone is becoming increasingly complex. Here’s why professional management now matters more than ever.
